QEEG Brain Map Test Prep Instructions

The QEEG is a painless, non-invasive test designed to record your brain wave patterns. This evaluation is necessary in order to determine if you are a candidate for neurofeedback therapy.

In order to get the most accurate readings from your QEEG, please follow these guidelines prior to your appointment:

  • Avoid alcohol and marijuana for 2-3 days before your QEEG.
  • Get a good night's sleep.
  • Have protein for breakfast; avoid sugary foods.
  • Wash your hair the day of your QEEG, or the night before.
  • Do NOT use hair conditioners, sprays, gels, etc.
  • Avoid taking over the counter medications.
  • Take your prescribed medications as usual.

If you have any questions regarding these preparation instructions, please email our office.
